Straight answers to the questions we hear most — no jargon, no upselling. Everything you need to know before your repair.
Cost depends mainly on the model and whether you choose standard or premium OEM glass — newer flagship phones and foldables cost more to repair than older or budget models, simply because the parts themselves cost more. Rather than quote a blanket price that won't match your actual device, we run a free diagnostic and give you a fixed price before any work starts. A fair quote should always be itemised and given upfront, never estimated after the repair is done.
In most cases, repair is the cheaper option — a screen or battery replacement is typically a fraction of the cost of a new device. It's worth weighing up the age of your phone, whether it has other underlying issues, and how much a replacement would actually cost new or refurbished. We'll always give you an honest opinion during your diagnostic — if we think repair isn't worth it for your specific device, we'll tell you rather than take the job anyway.
For hardware repairs — screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras — your data isn't touched at all; these are physical component swaps. Software repairs (factory resets, OS reinstalls) do involve your data directly, and we'll always explain exactly what a given repair involves before starting. As general good practice, back up your device before any repair, especially anything involving the motherboard or liquid damage, where there's a small chance of data loss regardless of who repairs it.
They should. A proper warranty covers both the part fitted and the labour used to fit it, for a meaningful length of time — we offer 12 months on every repair. Be wary of anywhere offering no warranty, or only a 30- or 90-day one; it's often a sign of lower-quality parts. Read the fine print too: a warranty that only covers "manufacturing defects" and excludes the labour isn't worth much if something comes loose.
Power it off immediately — don't try to turn it on to "check" if it still works. Don't charge it, and don't put it in rice; rice doesn't reliably draw out moisture and grains can get lodged in the ports. Bring it to us as soon as possible: the first 24 hours matter most, and the sooner we can start ultrasonic cleaning and corrosion treatment, the better your chances of a full recovery. See our water damage repair page for the full process.
Common signs include a full charge draining much faster than it used to, the phone shutting down suddenly even when the battery reads above 0%, and a back panel or screen that looks slightly lifted or bulging — a possible sign of swelling, which needs attention straight away. If your phone has a battery health indicator, anything below roughly 80% is usually a good time to consider a replacement. See our battery replacement page for details.
Standard parts are a genuine, reliable repair — fully tested and covered by the same warranty — at a lower cost. Premium OEM parts are made to a specification closer to the original manufacturer's component, generally offering slightly better colour accuracy, touch response or battery longevity. Neither is "wrong" — it's a question of budget versus how closely you want the repair to match the phone's original performance. We'll always explain the price difference for your specific model so you can choose.
